“King” 2021 AQHA Buckskin Gelding

Meet King – the kind of horse you don’t train a mind like this into. He was simply born with it. King is one of the calmest, sweetest, and most easy-going geldings we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. He’s a true gentleman through and through, naturally quiet, patient, and a joy to be around. While he prefers to take things slow and steady, he’s fully responsive and has all the buttons when asked. We’ve never called a four-year-old “bombproof” before, but if there ever was one, it’s King. Whether you’re 3 or 93, you can feel completely safe and confident in the saddle with him. He rides out extremely well by himself or in a group and doesn’t have a care in the world if he’s dead last.

This beautiful, thick-made buttermilk buckskin gelding is as gentle and quiet as they come. He stands 14.3 hands tall, with heavy bone and great feet. Incredibly sweet and affectionate, he enjoys attention and is always kind to be around. King is very desensitized and carries himself with the maturity of a much older horse. He is traffic safe, crosses obstacles and water with ease, is unbothered by gunfire, and remains calm in all kinds of environments. In the arena, he moves with a soft jog, a smooth rocking chair lope, and has a great handle. King has the movement and training to easily head to the weekend ranch shows as well. Hands down, he’s the most reliable and laid-back trail horse in our program. With a great mind and an unbeatable temperament, the opportunities are endless for this special gelding, he’s ready to go home and be someone’s perfect partner.

King was bred and raised by a trusted family friend with years of experience in the breeding business. He has stayed local his entire life and has never been passed around. We’ve had the pleasure of owning King for about eight months and during that time, we’ve hauled him all over, from ranch shows to county parks, and he’s handled every experience with the same calm, steady demeanor. We truly can’t say enough good things about this gelding. He’s the kind you’ll fall in love with the moment you get him home.
