Topaz 2019 AQHA Gelding

Topaz, a truly eye-catching 15-hand palomino gelding with the talent, training, and temperament to match his good looks. Bred to perform, he’s sired by the renowned Inferno Sixty Six and out of a daughter of the legendary Wimpys Little Step—a pedigree stacked with proven performance.

Topaz has been part of our program for over two years and has become a staple of the Schmitt Horse Ranch—our mascot and a barn favorite. He’s been hauled to ranch shows and trail riding at county parks, handling new environments with ease and confidence.

Professionally trained in reining, Topaz has all the fancy buttons and is now excelling in ranch classes. He’s soft, responsive, and an absolute joy to ride, whether you’re showing or just enjoying a cruise down the trail. He’s got stylish spins, deep sliding stops, smooth and pretty transitions, and an extended jog that’ll turn heads. Judges love his presence and style, he’s brought home multiple wins at local shows with my husband, Kyle, in the saddle. He has also earned his AQHA Performance ROM with Riley in the saddle last September at his first AQHA show. He has earned 22.5 AQHA Ranch Points. This gelding swept the Ranch Rail class placing 1st under all three judges! 

He’s a well-balanced, comfortable ride with impeccable conformation, straight legs, strong feet, and gorgeous muscle tone.

On the ground, Topaz is a gentleman. He stands ground tied for saddling if desired, ties well, stalls with no issues, and gets along great in a herd. He loves grooming and bathing, is respectful for the farrier, and is easy to load, haul, and tie at the trailer. He’s got a quiet, business-like attitude and gives 100% every single ride, there’s no quit in this guy.
